Old Fashioned Easter Eggs

1 dozen white eggs
white vinegar
optional white crayon
box of food colors

Gently place eggs in single layer in large saucepan. Add enough cold water to cover eggs by 1 inch. Cover. turn on heat to medium and bring to boil.
I boil my eggs for 10 min...feel free to adjust!!

Pour off hot water and rapidly cool eggs by running them under cold water
remove from water and allow to dry or dab dry with paper towel.

Mix 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 teaspoon vinegar and 10 to 20 drops food color in a heat proof cup. I line up coffee cups.

Repeat for each color Dip hard-cooked eggs in dye for about 5 minutes.
remove from cup when desired color is achieved.

Personalized eggs: Write initials, names or draw pictures on the egg with a white or light colored crayon before dyeing.

immediately clean out coffee cups and sink.

refrigerate eggs when done if you plan to eat them.
