Look on the bright side - you may not have tickets to the event but unlike the fans in the stadium, you'll be able to see all the cool new multimillion-dollar commercials that debut during the game!
Instructions
STEP 1: Decorate the house in the colors of the team you're rooting for. If one of the teams playing is "your" team, put on all your paraphernalia.
STEP 2: Invest in a few foam "bad-call bricks" to throw at the TV so your guests can express their feelings about the refs without doing damage to your house.
STEP 3: If you're going to have guests who are rooting for different teams, establish an imaginary line (or for fun, "draw" one with masking tape) down the center of the room. Decorate each side in one team's colors.
STEP 4: Order a "Super Bowl Party in a Box" that includes plates, napkins, cups and a football snack bowl.
STEP 5: Pick up veggie, cheese and cold cut plates and a six-foot long sandwich or two from a deli and have all the food laid out on a table within sight of the TV. Don't make your guests choose between eating and watching the game.
STEP 6: Buy several kinds of drinks. Keep the drinks in a cooler close by so you don't have to run to the fridge when it's third and inches. Restock the cooler at halftime.
STEP 7: Have everyone write down who they think will win and what the final score will be before the game starts. Award a silly prize, like a big football pinata, to the person who comes the closest.

We go to our neighbors super bowl party every year. They make chili (mild and spicy) and provide crackers, breads and corn bread muffins, guests bring snacks and desserts. Every year the guests come up with awesome snacks and desserts and try to outdo everyone else. It is sooo much fun. Of course the "pools" on the game is a big hit also.

Boil 1 box of rotini pasta, then rinse with cold water to cool (or refrigerate).
Chop into bite sized pieces the following:
1 red bell pepper
cheddar cheese (as much as you want)
Add to the pasta the two ingredients above plus:
1 small can sliced olives
1 bag of pepperoni bites
Pour on one bottle of peppercorn ranch dressing
Chill & serve
can change ingredients & dressing flavor to suite tastes.

Wow! This is a free sample website and it offers helpful hints and well, all I can say is...some people have alot of time on their hands if they can find things to talk negative on about throwing a party.
Thanks for the SB tips. This is my first time throwing the party, so I did click on this to see if there was anything I was leaving out.
But I think we have everything under control but thanks everyone for leaving such entertaining board comments. I had no idea my visit to this website could be so eventful and entertaining.
Hope you all have a good day!

Wow, good party ideas. Should not just use them for Superbowl Sunday. How about for when families come together for the Big Thanksgiving day games with family members from opposing towns/teams. Cool! Thanks!
please, I like these comment boards, please respect others here so we don't lose them. Thank you!

Can't we just all get along? It is only some ideas for people who may need a little help in getting started on their party. Life is too short to complain about the little things.Smile and live life to it's fullest.

Geez...If you feel you don't need party ideas why did you even bother to click on the link! Was it just to complain? Get over it! No one forced you to read this page!
Throwing a party and having a SuperBowl party are two different things - unless your SB party is not really about watching the game! There ARE some people who might be throwing their first SuperBowl party and might not think about doing some of these things in advance so they can watch & enjoy the game too.
I think the purpose of letting people post comments here is not to insult a persons intelligence, but to add more helpful ideas.

SuperBowl Parties are great....What a SUPER way to get friends & family together!! My menu gets better and better every year!! My team is not playing this year (Steelers) but I would not miss a SuperBowl for the world!! As for the negativity...I guess every where you go there are always going to be a few misanthropes. Have fun at your parties this weekend!!

I too am a Steelers fan, lived in Pittsbugh for years; married a former KCC guard/tackle. It's very interesting at our home when those 2 teams play each other. The party ideas were helpful to some, I'm sure.

Geeze...what a lot of not-needed negative comments! I think there were a couple cute ideas, for people who may have never thrown a superbowl party. Doesn't hurt those that may need ideas. I'm female, a huge football fan, and live in the Chicago burbs..... I'm not throwing a party and turned down a couple invitations to party. I'd rather watch the game, then spend the time trying to hear and see the game when everyone else wants to party! Go Bears!

You know Smith and Mike.........not all women (and men) get into football. I think the suggestions are nice. You guys are both grumps, why do you even waste your time typing these negitive comments? I think both of you don't get invited to paries, I sure wouldn't invite you to mine-

Then smith you should not of even bothered with reading this tip in the first place. I thought the tips were great in helping me think of fun things to have at my party. get over it!
by SMITH208

I am not a grump just stating my opinion, just like you did. I go to a lot of parties, that is whay I do not need instructions on how to have one.
by QTEE64

You know I meant to say: "PARTY" before you run with that one, and no, you both can sit home by yourself-

February 01, 2007
My, my! Aren't some of us grumpy this morning? Some people literally do need instructions on how to boil water. What do you care if someone gets some party ideas from this? And, no, I'm not using these ideas for a Superbowl party myself. I personally would rather be shot than to watch football. Even my hubby doesn't watch it.
by TRUDY FROM ILLINOIS
February 01, 2007
Well, some people are such perfectionists and are so OCD, they need a guideline. I've worked with some, too, and believe me, they need instruction on how to boil water.
