TY, I have some Olive oil that I don't like, so I might use it for this recipe and try it on my wooden kitchen cabinet doors.

Spray or pour the homemade solution on a soft cloth (never spray directly on the furniture)

I don't think that I would like the scent...it would remind me too much of my usual salad dressing! Thanks for the tip though!

It depends on the type of wood furniture and the finish on it if this would work. I have a few very old pieces that this would be great for, but most of my stuff is polyurethaned, and you do not need to oil that.

What do you think has been used throughout history? Our newer version of furniture polish was invented in the 1950s. Linseed oil, tung oil, etc, is still used primarily on certain woods.

And it will. I once use olive oil on a table in the evening, when I woke up the next morning it was covered in ants, UCK!!!! And yes, I did rub it in well and wipe down a lot, but the smell still attracted the bugs.

I guess the lemon juice keeps the olive oil from getting rancid, but don't think I would like to try.
Thanks for the post tho.

I use 1/4 cup vinegar with a few drops of olive oil in a spray bottle. Just shake it up before using and it looks and works just like Pledge.
